Beaumont's Proton Therapy Center

Beaumont's Proton Therapy Center offers one of the most innovative and comprehensive image-guidance systems for proton beam therapy available today. This delivers pinpoint targeted radiation for increased precision of treatment with fewer side effects. Beaumont was the first to offer a Proton Therapy Center in Michigan. Available in Royal Oak.

Image-Guided External Beam Radiotherapy

Leading-edge image-guided external beam radiotherapy delivers radiation from an external machine to the tumor site or target location. This includes hypo-fractionated and short course external beam radiotherapy for breast, prostate and rectal cancer.

Stereotactic Radiosurgery

Stereotactic radiosurgery is offered for lung and prostate cancer as well as for oligometastatic disease.

Gamma Knife

Gamma knife is a type of stereotactic radiosurgery that is effective for brain tumors, vascular malformations and neurological disorders. Available in Royal Oak.

High Dose-Rate Brachytherapy

High dose-rate brachytherapy is offered for prostate and gynecologic malignancies, issuing radiation treatment from inside the patient using wires, seeds or rods.

Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy

Stereotactic body radiotherapy is offered for painful and problematic metastatic disease, often in less than a week.

3D Conformal Radiation Therapy

3D conformal radiation therapy uses a computer to create a 3D picture of the tumor.

Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy

Intensity-modulated radiation therapy provides high-precision radiation using a computer to control the strength (intensity) and shape of X-rays.

Intraoperative Radiation for Breast Cancer

Intraoperative radiation is proven effective in reducing recurrence of breast cancer after a surgical procedure. Beaumont, Royal Oak was first in the state to treat patients with the Intrabeam intraoperative radiotherapy system. Available in Royal Oak.

BrainLab Stereotactic Treatment

BrainLab stereotactic treatment is a non-invasive radiation therapy used to treat tumors and abnormalities of the brain and spine with surgical precision. Available in Dearborn and Royal Oak.

4-D Imaging and Tumor Localization

4-D imaging and tumor localization technology to assist in treating tumors that move with breathing and organ motion. This helps reduce radiation to healthy tissue and increase treatment accuracy.
