What is the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic?

The adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) clinic is available to adult patients born with congenital heart problems. A multi-disciplinary team of cardiologists and other health care providers experienced in ACHD will evaluate you and develop the best treatment plan to meet your preference.  


What type of diagnosis would patient typically have in the OCHD clinic?

  • Patients diagnosed with any form of heart disease during childhood
  • Bicuspid aortic valve
  • Heart valve disorders
  • Atrial septal defect, ventricular septal defect or patient foramen ovale
  • Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

What are common treatments?

The OCHD team utilizes most advanced imaging capabilities to determine the best treatment option for you. Based on their findings, the team performs a variety of specialized congenital heart disease procedures depending on patient’s condition.

 

Where is the clinic located?

The ACHD clinic is located on the Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital campus near the East entrance in the Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital Max & Debra Ernst Heart Center.
