Use the following scale to assess your commitment and readiness to cope with pain.

Place a number from 0 to 10 from the following scale for each item below, with 0 being "not at all" and 10 as "all the time."
 I move around, engage in activities and exercise to keep physically fit.
 I move my body so I will not be afraid of pain and/or re-injury.
 I follow the instructions for any pain medication I take.
 I follow a healthy diet so I can keep my weight at a good level.
 I take time out each day for self-relaxation so I can decrease my stress.
 I spend time with family and friends even when I might be in pain.
 I try not to worry about things I can’t control.
 I schedule meaningful activities on a regular basis.
 I find ways of challenging any fears that I have about my pain.
