Your surgeon's office will inform you of the necessary preparations for surgery, including X-rays, pre-operative medical exams, blood tests and surgical scheduling.

Because orthopedic surgery involves the bones and joints, you may be less mobile than normal after surgery. You may need to consider your situation and resources when planning your care. While most patients recover at home, some patients may recover best in an extended care or rehabilitation facility.
