Many times, our interventional neuroradiologists can treat conditions
that are otherwise difficult to treat; meaning conditions that are
untreatable by open surgery. Patients are evaluated in close
consultation with specialists in neurosurgery, neurology, vascular
surgery, otolaryngology and radiology. A multidisciplinary approach is
used to determine the best treatment plan for each patient.
Interventional neuroradiology is a subspecialty of Beaumont's
Department of Diagnostic Radiology that is devoted to treatment of
disease involving the head, neck, brain and spine. The interventional
neuroradiology section at Beaumont provides innovative image-guided
procedures for patients diagnosed with diseases of the central nervous
system (brain and spine).
Beaumont offers a full range of therapeutic procedures including
endovascular treatment for cerebral vascular disease and
kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty for acute spine fractures.
