Beaumont’s Pulmonary Hypertension Center provides a comprehensive program for early detection, diagnosis and treatment for patients with pulmonary hypertension. Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension is a lung disorder that, if undiagnosed and untreated, can lead to right heart failure. The American College of Chest Physicians recommends earlier consideration and evaluation of patients suspected of having the disease.

Multidisciplinary, Collaborative Hypertension Treatment

Beaumont’s Pulmonary Hypertension Center offers a multidisciplinary team approach for patients suspected or diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. Our team includes cardiologists, pulmonologists, nurse practitioners, specialty nurses, respiratory therapists, rehabilitation therapists and home care nurses. Our team works with primary care and other physician groups to ensure patients receive continuity of care from their office to ours. We’ll work with referring physicians to ensure they are apprised of the progress of their patient and will get them back into their care as quickly as possible.

Pulmonary Hypertension Diagnostic Testing

Through the Pulmonary Hypertension Center, patients have access to full diagnostic and treatment services, including:

  • echocardiogram
  • ECG
  • chest X-ray
  • high-resolution CT scans
  • VQ scan
  • pulmonary function tests
  • right heart catheterization
  • oxygen assessment
