The pediatric rehabilitation staff at Beaumont Children's recognizes the importance of providing more than just therapy to our patients and their families. As the only Children's Miracle Network Hospitals affiliated hospital in Southeast Michigan, Beaumont is able to offer these and other very fun activities or visits from special guests for our patients and their families.

Throughout the year, we offer many special events for patients and their families to participate in together. The following events are traditional yearly events, but each year we have surprises to add.

Bike Day

Each year in May, more than 100 Beaumont Pediatric Rehabilitation patients are fitted for adapted bikes that they receive in July for free. This event is made possible through grant dollars. The children are selected based on their need and how long they have been waiting. It is always our goal to service all of our patients who request a bike, but this is not always possible, as funds are often limited.

Summer Swim Party

Every summer we host a free, private summer swim party along with a free barbecue for our patients and their families.

Halloween

This is always a week-long event at our clinics. Children are encouraged to come to therapy in their costumes and then they are escorted through our building where they trick-or-treat at the different departments.

December Holidays

Each year in December, the Pediatric Rehabilitation Department hosts a holiday party in collaboration with the Delta Pilots for Kids Program. This party is complete with gifts, crafts and treats for patients and their families. In addition, December often brings a visit from Santa, complete with toys and photo opportunities for patients and their siblings.

Whenever possible, we welcome siblings, parents and other family members to join in our festivities.
