childhood-development-disorders

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is committed to using a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach for diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders in children and adolescents, such as:

Parents, teachers, school administrators, doctors and others can refer children with neurodevelopmental delays/disorders. Each patient is evaluated by a team of experts that may include specialists in developmental-behavioral pediatrics, psychology, and speech pathology. Detailed reports of evaluations are shared with families and provide a blueprint for intervention strategies.

Please note:

  • Diagnostic evaluation services are only provided at the CHD's Southfield location.
  • Our evaluation team clinicians do not offer consults separately from the multidisciplinary evaluation services.
  • As a pediatric specialty program, the CHD is not an appropriate fit for patients whose primary concern is mental health related (anxiety, depression, suicidal or self-harm thoughts or actions).
  • The CHD is not able to provide crisis help. For families concerned about a behavioral or mental health crisis, please use one of the following resources:

Autism Spectrum Disorders
