Paul LaCasse, D.O., Beaumont Health executive vice president of post‐acute care and diversified business operations, will retire from Beaumont Health on March 31.
Dr. LaCasse has led Beaumont’s medical transportation companies; home health; senior living facilities and services; laboratory and pathology services; and joint ventures. His areas of responsibility will move to other leaders within the organization.
“Dr. LaCasse’s leadership and vision has strengthened the continuum of care we offer residents of Southeast Michigan and made it possible for Beaumont to better serve a larger, more diverse patient base,” Beaumont Health CEO John Fox said.
Dr. LaCasse was one of the key founders of Beaumont Health, having served as president and CEO of Botsford Health Care prior to Beaumont’s formation in 2014. He began his health care career as an emergency medicine physician at what is now Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills.
Throughout his career, Dr. LaCasse gave back as a clinician, educator and leader. He served on the governing board of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Statewide Campus System. And, he is a past chairman of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association. He also served on the American Osteopathic Association Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation and was chairman of the American Osteopathic Association’s Bureau of Hospitals.
He and his wife, Annette, led numerous medical missions to Peru and Guatemala, bringing groups of staff and students to provide care in areas lacking basic medical services.
Dr. LaCasse’s expertise and accomplishments have been recognized on the state and national level. He received the Walter F. Patenge Medal of Public Service from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. The American Hospital Association, in partnership with the Michigan Health & Hospital Association, named him as the only Michigan recipient of its 2014 Grassroots Champions Award.
Born and raised in Detroit, Dr. LaCasse is both a Wolverine and a Spartan, having earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, a doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and a master’s degree in public health in health service management and policy from the University of Michigan.
After Beaumont Health, Dr. LaCasse will continue his commitment to public service. He will also remain on the medical staff of Beaumont, Farmington Hills and continue his clinical and patient care activity.
