This holiday season come on out to Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak and help light up the dark for the young patients at Beaumont Children’s. Every night in December, people from all over the Metro Detroit area will come to Beaumont Children’s, located at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, for the annual Moonbeams for Sweet Dreams event. At 8pm each night pediatric patients will shine flashlights, or “moonbeams” at the community members gathered outside, who will then shine moonbeams back to them.
This cherished tradition was started three years ago by Beaumont Children’s nurses and child life specialists as a way of helping some of Beaumont’s youngest and bravest patients feel connected to their community during the holiday season. This event is currently coordinated by the Beaumont Children’s Pediatric Family Advisory Council.
