Beaumont

Two longtime Beaumont Health leaders have been promoted as other executives retire or move on to pursue other opportunities.

Thomas Lanni, Jr. has been promoted to president of Beaumont Hospital, Troy and Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe, effective April 1.

Lanni joined Beaumont in 2007 as the business manager for the radiation oncology department. He currently serves as chief operating officer of Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn. Previously, he served as an administrative director and as vice president of oncology, medicine, imaging, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and respiratory therapy at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak and Beaumont, Troy. He began his career at Pfizer Global Research and Development in Ann Arbor. Lanni has a unique way of connecting with people and has a long history of building strong relationships with physicians, leaders and team members.

Jane Jordan, senior vice president, general counsel, has decided to leave April 1. At Beaumont, Jordan built a cohesive team focused on insourcing legal services. Throughout the pandemic, Jordan and her team provided responsive and nimble legal support. She also guided Beaumont and its governing board through the legal, strategic and regulatory processes involved with the creation of BHSH System.

As Jordan departs, Terese Farhat has been promoted to senior vice president, general counsel, effective April 1. Farhat has worked at Beaumont for 17 years as an in-house attorney and previously spent 13 years in private practice.

Farhat currently serves as chief counsel, operations for Beaumont, overseeing legal services in key operational areas and providing business strategy and legal advice. Farhat has cultivated strong relationships with leaders and team members across the system and is widely respected as a responsive, knowledgeable and loyal advisor.

Interim Beaumont President Nancy Susick, RN, said, “We are thrilled to promote two longstanding and well-respected leaders. Tom and Terese both have proven track records and have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the patients and families we serve.”

In addition, Hans Keil, senior vice president, information services, has decided to leave the organization to pursue other opportunities. Keil will work with BHSH System Chief Digital and Information Officer Jason Joseph, systemwide technology leaders and the Beaumont leadership team, to help align the team for success prior to his May 1 departure. During the pandemic, Keil’s team provided robust information technology support and built new systems to support technology needs for Beaumont. He and his team improved key processes across the department and the organization.

A search is also underway for a permanent senior vice president of finance for Beaumont. Diane Roth has been serving in this role on an interim basis and plans to retire May 6.

“We are grateful for everything Jane, Hans and Diane have done for Beaumont. I am confident Tom and Terese will be successful in their new roles and will help lead Beaumont Health forward as we transform health care and coverage for our state. We are fortunate to have a strong team of leaders, like Tom and Terese, who have spent much of their careers at Beaumont Health,” BHSH Interim President Nancy Susick, RN, said.
