I hope you are enjoying the start to another beautiful Michigan summer; we are so lucky to live in this great state. I look forward to working with the Corewell Health team and all of you to improve the communities we serve in Michigan by making health
care simpler, more accessible, more affordable, and more equitable as we move into the future.
I want to thank those of you who attended our recent retreat. I know how busy you are and how valuable your time is. These sessions helped us all understand what is happening internally at Corewell Health and also externally in health care around the
country. The importance of good organizational culture cannot be overstated and the presentation on the culture training going on throughout the organization was very informative and helpful. Paul Keckley provided us with a sobering picture of health
care trends across the country and the many challenges we face. He shared his deep understanding of what’s happening in all areas of health care, and I think this will help all of us as we consider the future. The afternoon strategy session
gave those of us there an opportunity to share our thoughts on the initial strategy work and help shape the plan as it moves forward.
Another important benefit of the retreat was the chance for all of us to gather in person and interact as members of the Corewell Health community. It was wonderful to see and talk with so many of you. I want to once again thank Gary Torgow, chairperson
of Huntington Bank, for sharing their fantastic meeting space with us. What a beautiful view of Detroit! I think we all realize the need for Corewell Health to be more engaged in the city of Detroit. The needs are so great, and we have so much we
can offer.
I ask that you please take the time to read this communication. We have included information regarding service additions, awards received and all the great work by our team in support of Corewell Health’s Mission, Vision and Values. The purpose
