Gillian Anderson, RN, was named chief nursing officer for Beaumont, Trenton. She began her new position on June 28, joining the leadership team in the role vacated by Sue Schulz, RN, who retired.

Gillian started her nursing career in Great Britain, where she worked more than eight years in a Level I Emergency Department for Eastbourne District General Hospital. Her nursing career in the UK includes experience in medical/surgical units, a group home psychiatric setting, primary care office and a nursing home setting.

From 2007-2011, she worked at Ascension Providence Hospital – Novi Campus, where she collaborated in opening a new innovative emergency department that enhanced high-quality care. After four years, she transitioned to Henry Ford Allegiance Health, where she was instrumental in achieving their first Magnet designation and developed/launched a nursing residency for the critical care division.

 

Gillian comes to Beaumont after serving as administrative director of Nursing for Detroit Medical Center’s Huron Valley Sinai Hospital. During her two-year tenure, she restructured staffing and finance grids to positively impact employee and patient satisfaction and led the facility through a successful Joint Commission survey.

 

She earned her master’s and bachelor’s in nursing from the American Sentinel University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in nursing practice at Spring Arbor University.
