Dr. Jodie Rappe appointed chief medical officer, patient safety officer of Beaumont, Grosse Pointe

Dr. Jodie Rappe has been appointed chief medical officer and patient safety officer for Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe. She assumed the hospital’s CMO leadership duties of Dr. Nick Gilpin, who serves as director of Epidemiology and Infection Prevention Beaumont Health.

With her new position, she has stepped down from her responsibilities as the medical director and associate program director of the Family Medicine Residency program at Beaumont, Grosse Pointe. However, she will continue to mentor residents at Grosse Pointe as a clinical preceptor, advisor and inpatient faculty member. She is also an assistant professor at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.

Dr. Rappe received her undergraduate degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and went on to receive her master’s degrees from Texas State University and Texas A&M University. She earned her medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, where she currently serves as faculty.

 

She completed her Family Medicine residency at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital in California and served an additional 12 years in the U.S. Navy. During that time, Dr. Rappe held multiple leadership roles, including chair of Family Medicine, branch head of Primary Care clinics, chair of Credentialing and assistant director of Medical Services while working at multiple locations in California and Japan.
